I’m a Bude, Cornwall-based wedding photographer also capturing natural, story-led weddings across Devon, London and throughout the UK. It’s been over a twelve years since I started photographing weddings, and honestly? I still have to pinch myself that I get to work with couples on their wedding day, which is now over 400!
You’d think that after all these years, wedding photography might start to feel just another job. Not a chance. The more I do this, the more I love it! Every wedding shows me something new about what real love looks like. Like how families support each other, and the quiet little moments nobody else notices. I love it when my couples tell me ‘We didn’t event know that happened!’ And because you’ll be so busy, you can relax knowing I’ll have it covered.
Wedding photography actually found me because of my daughter, Dasha. When she arrived, I turned into this obsessed mum trying to take photos of every single “first.” She was the person who really inspired me to say goodbye to the corporate world and give that same gift to other people on their wedding day.
I’m now based in Bude, and work as a team with Julian, my amazing husband and assistant. We’re always there early (you never know if you’re going to be stuck behind a tractor on the way to a wedding on Cornwall and Devon roads!) and have this little ritual before things get going: we park the car, make a green tea from the Thermos, listen to some George Michael and have a bit of an in-car dance. It’s our way of staying grounded before the day starts.
Building our life together is everything to us, but being trusted to photograph wedding days and tell couple’s stories through wedding photography comes right up there as one of the best parts of who we are.
And the best bit? We stay in touch with many of our couples long after their wedding day. We get Christmas cards, baby news… and we love it!
